Meet the Dragons
On Saturday Billy, Bonnie, and Professor William left Florida on a plane headed for Tasmania to visit Gunns Plains cave. This is where Billy and Bonnie’s parents live. In order to get there they had to fly over the Atlantic Ocean, the continent of Africa, the Indian Ocean, and the capital of Tasmania, Hobart.
While they were still on the plane, the pilot said to the professor, “Professor what are the GPS coordinates to Gunns Plains Cave, Tasmania?”
“The GPS coordinates are 146°0'19"E, 41°17'45"S.”
“Thanks, Professor.”
When the professor sat back down, Billy asked, “Professor, why did you say that my dad is going to die?”
“Well, it’s because the ruby of life passes on to different dragons. Their fathers give to their sons and they pass it on to their sons. Your dad's father gave the ruby to him and said that if the ruby falls into the wrong hands he will die. Your father was so scared he hid it and let Merlin make a spell that sends the ruby from place to place so it will be hard to find.
"So why do we have to find it if it is always hidden?" asked Billy
"Well, the spell has been broken by the evil witch, Morgan and we don't know where the ruby ended up," said the professor. "So it is important that we find it before the evil creatures, the Watchers, do. Let’s pray that we will find it first.
Suddenly the passengers heard a loud bang and the plane jerked hard to the left. Billy looked outside and saw one of the Watchers attacking the plane. Billy said to the pilot, “We need to land this plane now and fast.”
“I can't, these things just destroyed the control panel and I can't control it.”
“Alright we will jump off the plane instead. Bonnie, can you carry me and the professor down to the ground?”
“Yeah I can.”
Bonnie grabbed Billy and the professor. They jumped off the plane and began to soar through the sky. When they were about to land, they were suddenly surrounded by the Watchers who were trying to hit them with lightning bolts. Suddenly, two dragons appeared blowing fire at the evil ones. They were so scared they flew off.
It was very cold, about 30 degrees, when they finally landed near the cave. Billy said, “Thanks dad and Sabrina.”
“No problem we heard you were coming and we smelled danger so we came to help.” said Drako.
“Please, come inside and we can talk some more in here.” Sabrina said.
When they got inside they noticed that the entrance had a lot of stairs. Billy said, “Professor, why does this cave have stairs but other caves don’t?”
The professor said, “In 1918 Bill Woodhouse found this place and they build these stairs and, as you can see, they are still in good use today.”
When they were almost to the third floor, Bonnie saw the glow worms and cave spiders. Bonnie said, “They look like they glow. Don’t you think so, Billy?”
“I do not think so Bonnie. I think they look sort of like crystals.”
While they were walking, they saw a formation of shawls or curtain- like speleothems which are translucent and have characteristic stripes. They also saw a stream that had many Tasmanian Giant Freshwater Crayfish which are the worlds largest freshwater invertebrate.
When they got to the third floor, Bonnie asked, “Hey guys would you like to help us find the ruby of life before the evil watchers and creatures get it first?”
“Well, alright,” said Drako and Sabrina.
“Great, now we need to go the Dead Sea and see if the ruby is still there.”
“I hope we get there before it goes to a different place.” said Billy.
“Drako and I will give you a flight to the Dead Sea.” said Sabrina
“That sounds great. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s go.” said Bonnie.
So Billy, Bonnie, and Professor William got on the dragons and soared through the sky to the Dead Sea.
The End
