Blog #6, The Grand Canyon
By superhorse4814
While Billy, Bonnie, Professor William, Drako, and Sabrina were on their way to the Grand Canyon in the American state of Arizona, Sabrina asked the professor, "Professor, what are the coordinates to the Grand Canyon?"
“They are 36 3' 16 N, and 112 8' 22 W."
"Thanks professor."
They flew across Iran, Africa and the Pacific Ocean until they stopped in Washington DC, the capital of the United States, to rest for the night. When it was morning, they flew back in the sky to finish the flight from Tibet to Arizona. While they were flying, Billy asked the professor, "Professor why do they call it the Grand Canyon?"
"Well, Billy, the Grand Canyon is a powerful and inspiring landscape. It is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep. Scientists believe the canyon was created by the Colorado River over six million years."
"That sounds cool professor."
"Yeah it is Billy."
When they landed at the top of the Grand Canyon, they thought it was the biggest thing they ever seen. They walked through its trails looking for the ruby. When they were near the edge of one of the cliffs, a Watcher came out of nowhere, swooped down and made Bonnie fall backwards over the edge.
Billy screamed, "Fly Bonnie, fly."
Bonnie brought out her wings and flew in the sky. She landed at the bottom of the cliff. and Billy screamed, "Bonnie, ere you alright?"
"Yeah I am."
"Look down there for the ruby while the rest of us look up here."
"Good idea."
While Bonnie was looking for the ruby, the ones looking at the top of the canyon heard an evil laugh.
Drako exclaimed, "What was that?"
"I know who that is. It is Morgan." said Billy.
Morgan appeared and said, "You are correct Billy."
"Get out of our way Morgan or I will fight you again."
"Alright Billy,” Morgan said as she got out her sword and waited for him.
Billy said to Drako and Sabrina, "You guys distract the Watchers while I fight Morgan."
"Good idea son." said Drako.
Drako and Sabrina flew up in the sky to make sure the watchers did not get near Billy and Morgan. Billy said to the professor, "Professor, I want you to find the ruby."
"Alright Billy, God be with you,” said the professor.
Billy got out his sword and ran towards Morgan and they started to fight. Bonnie was still looking for the ruby. She finally found it under a rock. However, when she tried to retrieve it a rattlesnake, which is a very common reptile found in the Grand Canyon, almost bit her. Bonnie backed away. The ruby was starting to glow. The snake moved away and Bonnie rushed to grab the stone but she was too late. The ruby disappeared. She was very disappointed and frustrated.
Morgan and Billy were still fighting until Morgan stopped and flew away.
Billy said, "Come back here Morgan and fight me."
She disappeared anyway. Bonnie found Billy and the professor and said "I did not retrieve the ruby."
"Oh no, now I need to figure out where the ruby went next on my laptop." said professor. Bonnie said, "Sorry, Billy I thought could get it but..."
"It’s okay Bonnie. It happens, besides Morgan did not get it either."
The dragons came back and knew that they did not get the ruby. They waited a couple minutes until professor came out and said, "The Ruby is now at a volcano in the Central American country of Guatemala."
"A volcano,” exclaimed Billy! “That sounds dangerous."
"Don’t worry, we will still get the ruby." said Bonnie.
"So what are we waiting for? We need to get it before Morgan." said Drako.
So Billy, Bonnie, and the professor got on the dragons and flew south toward Central America.

The Holy River, Blog #5
By superhorse4814
Billy, Bonnie, Professor, Drako, and Sabrina flew from Assateague Island over the Atlantic Ocean, across Spain, over the Mediterranean Sea to Turkey. They decided to rest there for the night. The next morning, they flew over Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan into Tibet to the Brahmaputra River. This meant that they had traveled approximately 900 miles in two days.
While they were flying Drako said to the Professor, "Professor, what are the coordinates to Brahmaputra?"
”They are 26°10'40"N 91°41'25"E, Drako."
"Thanks Professor."
When they were almost there, Sabrina asked the professor,
"How did the river get its name?”
"Well Sabrina, the Brahmaputra River was named after the son of Lord Brahma who the Hindus thought was the creator of the universe,” said Professor William.
"Wow, that is very interesting," said Sabrina. “What else do you know about it?”
“According to Hindu myths, it is a very holy river. In fact, every few miles there is a holy site. We should search one of them called the Kamakhya Temple for the ruby.”
When they landed and were right next to the river’s edge in Tibet.
Billy exclaimed, “Wow, this looks like a huge, long river!”
“Yes, Billy, it is one of the largest rivers in Asia. It runs for about 800 miles in Tibet.”
“Are there other countries it goes through?” asked Bonnie.
“It starts in southwestern Tibet, flows across southern Tibet, through the Himalayas, into China, Burma, India, and joins the River Ganges in Bangladesh,” explained the professor.
“How deep is it?” asked Sabrina?
“Well Sabrina, according to my research, the average depth of the river is 124 feet and the maximum depth is 380 feet.”
“That sounds deep, Professor, I guess we will need to be careful.”
“You are absolutely correct, Sabrina. In fact, the Brahmaputra is not a calm river. There are places that are very dangerous. Some of the people who live along the river believe a monster lives in those dangerous patches. Every year boats are overturned or floods swallow up the land.”
“I hope Morgan doesn’t awaken this monster!” said Bonnie.
“I also see a small island out in the river. Do you know its name, Professor?” asked Billy.
“Yes, it is called Umandana. It is one of the smallest river islands in the world. Further down is another island called Majuli, which is the largest river island in the world.”
“Maybe the ruby is on one of the islands,” suggested Drako.
Suddenly, they heard an evil laugh. They realized that Morgan and her Watchers were looking for the ruby across the river at the Kamakhya Temple. They quickly hid behind a huge rock so they would not be discovered.
“Looks like we need to find the ruby before they do,” said Billy.
“But how are we going to do it if they are over there already?” asked Bonnie.
“We will distract them while you fly Billy over to the temple to look for it,” said Drako.
“That is a good plan,” said Professor William.
Drako and Sabrina with the professor on her back flew out from behind the rock over to the temple. The Watchers saw them and streaked out to meet them in the air.
Meanwhile, Bonnie flew Billy over to the temple. They were careful not to let the evil witch, Morgan, see them. While Bonnie began to search for the ruby, Billy yelled to Morgan.
“It is over Morgan. Stop looking for the ruby!”
“Sorry that will not happen, Billy!”
“Then I will have to make you stop!”
“Is that a threat, Billy?!”
“Let’s go!” exclaimed Billy.
Billy pulled out his sword and began fighting with Morgan. As this was happening, Bonnie was desperately looking for the Ruby of Life.
“Its not here, Billy!” screamed Bonnie. “I am flying over to Umandana to look there!”
Morgan and Billy continued to fight while Bonnie searched the island. After a few minutes, Bonnie flew over to tell Billy the ruby was not to be found.
Billy said to Bonnie, “Go search the other island!”
“Okay!”
As Bonnie flew away, Morgan called the Watchers to pursue her. She suddenly disappeared. Billy knew where she was going so he called Drako and Sabrina to come and take him to the large island. When they got there, Morgan had called forth the river monster. This monster was flooding the island and the Watchers had grabbed Bonnie. The dragons began to blow fire at the Watchers and the monster. The Watchers turned to ash and the flood dried up as the monster slipped back beneath the river waters.
Morgan screamed, “I see the ruby! You can’t stop me now!”
As they all looked up into the dense forest surrounding the river, they saw the ruby lying in the crook of a tree.
“Oh no, it is glowing!” screamed Bonnie.
Just as Morgan reached for it, the ruby disappeared. She screamed in fury and disappeared.
“Well, we didn’t get the ruby in time again but neither did Morgan!” said Sabrina.
“Hopefully next time we will arrive before Morgan. Where does your research say the ruby will be next, Professor?” asked Billy.
“According to my calculations, the ruby will appear in the United States.”
“Where in the US?” they all asked.
“It will appear in Arizona,” said Professor William.
“Arizona, that is a big state! Do you know exactly where in Arizona?” asked Bonnie.
“Yes, the Grand Canyon.”
“Oh no, that place is huge!” exclaimed Billy.
“Let’s get going so we can get there before Morgan,” said Drako.

The next day, Billy, Bonnie, Professor William, Drako, and Sabrina started their journey towards Assateague Island. They had to fly over the Mediterranean Sea, over Spain and the Atlantic Ocean to the Eastern coast of the United States to get to the island.
Sabrina said to the professor, "What are the coordinates to Assateague Island?"
When they were about to land, a ball of fire came out of nowhere. It made Sabrina and Drako fall to the ground which made Billy and the rest fall off their backs to the ground also. Billy got up and saw the evil witch Morgan.
She said to Billy, "Hello Billy, glad to see me?"
"Morgan I am not glad to see you. Now get out of the way so we can find what we are looking for or come and fight me."
"Billy you will get hurt!" Bonnie said with fear in her voice.
“I have to do this, Bonnie so you can get the ruby!” said Billy
"Alright Billy lets fight!” Morgan shouted evily.
"But Billy!" cried Bonnie “You might get killed!”
So Bonnie, the professor, Drako and Sabrina went to find the ruby.
Billy pulled out his sword and said, “Are you ready to fight, you evil ugly witch?”
“I am not ugly and I was born ready.”
Billy said, “Charge.”
They hit their swords together and fought and fought.
At another part of the island, Bonnie, the professor, and the dragons were busy looking for the ruby. All of sudden, a Watcher swooped down which made Bonnie and the professor duck. Drako blew fire at it but missed. The Watcher went after Drako but Sabrina blew fire and it hit the Watcher.
Sabrina said, “I sense the Watchers coming from the Assateague light house.”
Drako said, “Professor and Bonnie, you go find the ruby while Sabrina and I go fight with the Watchers.”
“Okay Drako” said the professor.
Drako and Sabrina flew to the north to fight with the Watchers.
As Bonnie and the professor were looking for the ruby, a Watcher came out and said, “Stop looking for the ruby and let us find it.”
“Sorry, let’s fight to see who will find it.” said the professor.
“But professor!” Bonnie said anxiously.
“Bonnie, go find the ruby.” said the professor.
Bonnie ran while the professor started to fight the Watcher.
Bonnie was still looking for the ruby when she saw a horse eating some grass nearby peacefully. Bonnie said to herself, “Oh the horse is beautiful.” She kept walking until she finally saw the red glow of the ruby lying in a Great Blue Heron’s nest in a tall tree. Bonnie knew she would have to use her wings to fly up to the nest. When she finally got to the nest, she realized the ruby was about to disappear again. Bonnie tried to get it but she was too late. It disappeared again.
Morgan stopped fighting and said, “Looks like your girlfriend has not yet retrieved the ruby. It went to a different place.”
“How are you so sure?”
“I can make the ruby go places. I know where it is now.”
“Well, I can find out easy enough.”
“Good luck!” screamed Morgan as she disappeared.
Billy ran to find the professor so that they could figure out where the ruby had gone to. The professor used his laptop to determine the coordinates of the ruby.
Professor William said, “The ruby has gone to the Brahmaputra River in Tibet.”
Billy said, “We better hurry before Morgan gets there first.” So Billy, Bonnie and the professor got on the dragons and flew up into the sky to get to the Brahmaputra River.

The Evil Attack
By superhorse4814
The next day found Billy, Bonnie, Professor William, Sabrina, and Drako flying over the Indian Ocean to get to Judean desert where the Dead Sea is located. The Judean Desert is in Israel. The Dead Sea is on the border of Israel and Jordan.
Drako said to the professor, "Professor what are the coordinates to the Dead Sea?"
"The coordinates are 31° 30' 0" N and 35° 30' 0" E."
"Thanks."
When they were almost there, Bonnie said, "Professor, why is this lake called the Dead Sea? It sounds creepy.”
"It does sound creepy. It is a salt lake between Israel and Jordan. It is 1,240 ft deep. It is the world saltiest body of water. It is 8.6 times saltier than the ocean. In the bible, the Dead Sea was a place of protection for King David. One of the reasons it is called the Dead Sea is because when fish swim into the Dead Sea from the fresh water streams, they die. Salt crystals cover their bodies and they are washed ashore by the waves.”
When they landed on the sandy desert, Sabrina sensed some evil and said, “I sense the Watchers coming from Hebron.”
“Look’s like we’re going to have a fight with them.” said Drako
“That sounds dangerous dad.” said Billy. They quietly and slowly walked towards the water so that the Watchers would not hear them.
When they got to the Dead Sea, they realized the watchers had already arrived and were looking for the Ruby of life. They hid behind a big rock and Professor said, “Drako and Sabrina, I want you to fly up in the air to be a distraction while Billy and I go get the ruby.”
“Alright Professor,” said Drako. Sabrina and Drako flew up in the sky and blew fire at the Watchers. The Watchers flew up to fight them. Fifteen Watchers stayed behind just in case there were any other people around. Billy brought out his sword and said, “Charge.” Billy and the professor came out of hiding and fought the Watchers. While they were fighting, Bonnie came out quietly and tried to find the ruby. Bonnie was looking and looking till a Watcher saw her and ran towards her. Bonnie saw it and began hitting and punching it.
While Bonnie was fighting, she saw the ruby in the water. Bonnie tried to kill the Watcher. Bonnie saw the ruby starting to glow but she was too late. The ruby vanished in thin air. The Watchers saw what happened so they stopped fighting and flew off.
When Billy went to Bonnie, he said, “Did you get it.”
“No, I was too late. It vanished into thin air.”
“Well, looks like I need to look on my laptop and see where the ruby went off to now.” said the professor.
“Sorry Billy, I thought I could get it but I was attacked by one of the Watchers.” said Bonnie.
“It is okay Bonnie.” They waited for the Professor to come back. When he arrived he said, “Looks like I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that the Watchers know where the ruby went.”
“What is the good news?” asked Drako “The good news is that the ruby is now at the Island of Assateague.”
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go get the ruby before the Watchers.” said Billy. So Billy, Bonnie and Professor William got on Drako and Sabrina and they flew into the sky toward Assateague Island.

Meet the Dragons
On Saturday Billy, Bonnie, and Professor William left Florida on a plane headed for Tasmania to visit Gunns Plains cave. This is where Billy and Bonnie’s parents live. In order to get there they had to fly over the Atlantic Ocean, the continent of Africa, the Indian Ocean, and the capital of Tasmania, Hobart.
While they were still on the plane, the pilot said to the professor, “Professor what are the GPS coordinates to Gunns Plains Cave, Tasmania?”
“The GPS coordinates are 146°0'19"E, 41°17'45"S.”
“Thanks, Professor.”
When the professor sat back down, Billy asked, “Professor, why did you say that my dad is going to die?”
“Well, it’s because the ruby of life passes on to different dragons. Their fathers give to their sons and they pass it on to their sons. Your dad's father gave the ruby to him and said that if the ruby falls into the wrong hands he will die. Your father was so scared he hid it and let Merlin make a spell that sends the ruby from place to place so it will be hard to find.
"So why do we have to find it if it is always hidden?" asked Billy
"Well, the spell has been broken by the evil witch, Morgan and we don't know where the ruby ended up," said the professor. "So it is important that we find it before the evil creatures, the Watchers, do. Let’s pray that we will find it first.
Suddenly the passengers heard a loud bang and the plane jerked hard to the left. Billy looked outside and saw one of the Watchers attacking the plane. Billy said to the pilot, “We need to land this plane now and fast.”
“I can't, these things just destroyed the control panel and I can't control it.”
“Alright we will jump off the plane instead. Bonnie, can you carry me and the professor down to the ground?”
“Yeah I can.”
Bonnie grabbed Billy and the professor. They jumped off the plane and began to soar through the sky. When they were about to land, they were suddenly surrounded by the Watchers who were trying to hit them with lightning bolts. Suddenly, two dragons appeared blowing fire at the evil ones. They were so scared they flew off.
It was very cold, about 30 degrees, when they finally landed near the cave. Billy said, “Thanks dad and Sabrina.”
“No problem we heard you were coming and we smelled danger so we came to help.” said Drako.
“Please, come inside and we can talk some more in here.” Sabrina said.
When they got inside they noticed that the entrance had a lot of stairs. Billy said, “Professor, why does this cave have stairs but other caves don’t?”
The professor said, “In 1918 Bill Woodhouse found this place and they build these stairs and, as you can see, they are still in good use today.”
When they were almost to the third floor, Bonnie saw the glow worms and cave spiders. Bonnie said, “They look like they glow. Don’t you think so, Billy?”
“I do not think so Bonnie. I think they look sort of like crystals.”
While they were walking, they saw a formation of shawls or curtain- like speleothems which are translucent and have characteristic stripes. They also saw a stream that had many Tasmanian Giant Freshwater Crayfish which are the worlds largest freshwater invertebrate.
When they got to the third floor, Bonnie asked, “Hey guys would you like to help us find the ruby of life before the evil watchers and creatures get it first?”
“Well, alright,” said Drako and Sabrina.
“Great, now we need to go the Dead Sea and see if the ruby is still there.”
“I hope we get there before it goes to a different place.” said Billy.
“Drako and I will give you a flight to the Dead Sea.” said Sabrina
“That sounds great. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s go.” said Bonnie.
So Billy, Bonnie, and Professor William got on the dragons and soared through the sky to the Dead Sea.
